Pressing, disibution, & promoting "Self-Evident Truths"

Now, with the master disc in hand, I imagined that the hard work was done. Au contraire! While the internet has opened a brand new world to the independent artist it’s a very crowded world, too. There are a myriad of sites and options for marketing your music. Additionally you have to be up on all the major social media sites. We haven’t even touched on where to put your advertising dollars on these sites. So now the really hard work begins, exploring sites, posting music, deploying widgets, and hours pouring over statistics of all kinds. Yes, when you make your passion your work it’s still your work:-) This will be a learning experience with a steep curve…but at least there’ll always be something to learn! Maybe I should hire a ninth-grader to do it for me since they’re much better than us fogies.
